When you are typing text in Microsoft Chat, the text may intermittently appear truncated.
The Comic Sans font has not been registered properly.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Restart your computer. When you see the "Starting Windows 95" message, press the F8 key, and then choose Safe Mode Command Prompt Only from the Startup menu.
- When the computer has booted to a command prompt, restart the computer again and start Windows 95 normally. This should register the Comic Sans font correctly.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Chat version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
