In Microsoft Excel 97, if you click Convert To MS Access on the Data menu to convert a Microsoft Excel list to a Microsoft Access 97 database, you may receive the following error message
where <selection> contains the name of the active worksheet and the selected range of cells.
This behavior is caused by a limitation in the Microsoft AccessLinks add- in. If you want to convert a Microsoft Excel list to a Microsoft Access database, you are limited to converting 16383 rows.
To work around this problem, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
167669 XL97: Data Truncated to 16,384 Rows When Imported Into MS Access
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
The Microsoft AccessLinks add-in creates Microsoft Access forms and reports to use with Microsoft Excel lists, and imports Microsoft Excel lists into Microsoft Access. When the Microsoft AccessLinks add-in is loaded, it adds three menu commands to the Data menu: MS Access Form, MS Access Report, and Convert To MS Access.
For more information about the AccessLinks add-in, click the Index tab in Microsoft Excel 97 Help, type the following text
and then double-click the selected text to go to the topic of your choice.
