When you click a hyperlink in a Web PageView, you receive the following error message:

HTTP 404/1.0 Object Not Found

This problem occurs when you do the following:

  • You have created a Web PageView using WebPage.htm included in the Office 97 Server Pack located in the SrvPack folder of your Microsoft Office 97 Professional Edition for Windows CD-ROM.

  • You click a hyperlink whose folder contains an apostrophe character (') in the name.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article

Web PageViews can be created by installing the Server Pack located on the Microsoft Office 97 Professional Edition for Windows CD-ROM in the SrvPack folder. The Web PageView is part of the Microsoft Office Web Find Fast indexer. This indexer utility allows you to index multiple document locations on your Web server. You can combine all of these locations into one index, which makes searching for any file on your Web server as easy as clicking your browser. These results are then returned to the Web page that is generated by Microsoft Office Web Find Fast. The links that are returned function as either Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) or universal naming convention (UNC) file references. You can customize all HTML pages to use the features of Office Web Find Fast, including sorting by relevance, file name, save date, and size. A PageView allows you to display the documents within the Web Find Fast index in a hierarchical list.

NOTE: The Office Server Pack and Web Find Fast are only available on the Microsoft Office 97 Profession Edition for Windows CD-ROM.
