WINDOWS

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0

SYMPTOM

When you save a Word 6.0 document as WordPerfect 5.1 for MS-DOS or WordPerfect 5.x for Windows formats, text formatted as all caps is incorrectly converted to small caps.

CAUSE

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the WordPerfect converter supplied with Word 6.0. We are researching the problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

WORKAROUND

To correct the problem following conversion, remove the small caps formatting in WordPerfect, select the text you want to be capitalized, and use the Convert Case command to convert the text to uppercase. For more information, see the “Capitalization” and “Convert Case” topics in your WordPerfect documentation.
