How Comments Convert Between WordPerfect and Word


The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0


Comments in WordPerfect versions 5.1 for MS-DOS and 5.1 and 5.2 for Windows are the equivalent of text formatted as hidden in Word, and are converted to hidden text. In kind, text formatted as hidden in Word 6.0 for Windows is converted to a WordPerfect comment.

Comments are also retained in conversion to previous versions of Word.


WordPerfect comment text can be formatted as bold, italic, or underline and this formatting is retained as direct equivalent formatting applied to the hidden text in Word, and vice versa.
