FormatStyle .KeyCode Argument Doesn't Convert from Word 2.x

Article ID: Q107540
Creation Date: 23-NOV-1993
Revision Date: 10-SEP-1996 The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0

SYMPTOMS

When you run a converted Word 2.x for Windows macro that contains the FormatStyle .Keycode argument, the following error occurs in Word 6.0 for Windows:

   Undefined dialog record field.

CAUSE

The Word 2.x .Keycode argument is not valid in Word 6.0, and Word does not convert it to the correct ToolsCustomizeKeyboard command. In Word 6.0, you must make all keyboard, menu, and toolbar assignments using the Customize command on the Tools menu.

WORKAROUND

You must manually edit the macro to assign the style to a key combination.
