The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 5.0
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, version 5.0
  • Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel, when you use the Copy Picture command to copy cells on a worksheet, row and column headings are not copied. This is different than in earlier versions of Microsoft Excel as Copy Picture included row and column headings.

WORKAROUND

To copy a picture of cells such that the picture includes the row and column headings, do either of the following:

Method 1: Take a screen print of your Microsoft Excel Window. To do this:

Press ALT+PRINT SCREEN to take a picture of the entire Microsoft
Excel window. The picture can then be pasted into a graphics
program, such as Windows Paintbrush, for editing.

Method 2: Modify your Page Setup options to include Row and Column

          headings.

          1. On the File menu, click Page Setup.

          2. Click the Sheet tab.

          3. Click the Row and Column Headings check box and click OK to
             accept the change.

          4. Select the range of cells you want to copy.

          5. Press and hold down the SHIFT key, and click Copy Picture on
             the Edit menu.

          6. Click the "As Shown When Printed" option and then click OK.

          7. Paste the image in the desired location.

The pasted image will include row and column headings, but it will appear in black and white unless your printer supports color printing. If you have a color printer, the pasted image will appear in color.
