SYMPTOMS
You may find that the Encarta button is unavailable (dimmed) when you choose Find Information from the Edit menu in a Multimedia Works Word Processor document. This occurs if you have installed Encarta using the minimum (slower) setup, This problem is caused by an incorrect entry in the ENCARTA.INI file.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Encarta version 1994. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, reinstall Multimedia Works. This reinstalls the updated version of the ENCARAPI.DLL file.
MORE INFORMATION
This problem occurs if the earlier version of ENCARAPI.DLL (the version shipped with Encarta 1994) has somehow been copied over the updated version of ENCARAPI.DLL that is shipped with Multimedia Works 3.0.
