The information in this article applies to:

  • == Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, versions 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 ==

The Protect Cell option under the Format menu applies to the currently active cell.

For example, if cell A1 is protected and then a range of cells is selected, making A1 the active cell, the Protect Cell option will have a check mark next to it. This indicates that the currently active cell has the Protect Cell applied to it, but the other cells in the selected range may or may not have Protect Cell applied to them.
