The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0 - Microsoft Windows operating system version 3.1

If you want to apply more than one multilevel numbering style in your Word for Windows document, insert a section break between each list.

If you apply one format to a multilevel numbered list and then change the numbering format in a subsequent list, Word reformats the previous list with the new settings if the lists are in the same section.
