- Microsoft Win32s versions 1.0 and 1.1 |
The _environ variable is a pointer to the strings in the process environment, and is used by the C Run-time routines getenv() and _putenv(). The _environ variable cannot be supported in Win32s dynamic-link libraries (DLLs) because per-process data is not available. It is not possible to represent the unique environment of each application in this situation.
Attempting to use _environ in a DLL under Win32s in an application that was linked with CRTDLL results in the following error:
The procedure entry point "_environ_dll" could not be located in the Dynamic Link Library “CRTDLL.dll”.
Instead, use GetEnvironmentStrings() and GetEnvironmentVariable().
