PRA: Using Task List to Exit Run-Time App Causes GP Fault

SYMPTOMS


If you close a run-time Microsoft Access application by choosing End Task from the Microsoft Windows Task List, you will receive an "MSARN110 application error" message. When you close the error message, you will receive the error message "MSARN110 has caused a general protection fault in module MSARN110.EXE at 0079:0BB4."

STATUS


Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft Access Distribution Kit version 1.1. This problem no longer occurs in the Microsoft Access Developer's Toolkit version 2.0.

Steps to Reproduce Problem


  1. Start a run-time Microsoft Access application.
  2. Open the Task List by pressing CTRL+ESC.
  3. Select the run-time application.
  4. Choose End Task.
