WINDOWS

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project for Windows, versions 1.0, 3.0, 3.0a, 4.0

SYMPTOMS

The Microsoft Mouse version 9.0 and later has a feature called Snap-to that selects the default button in dialog boxes. This feature does not work in the dialog boxes in Microsoft Project. The exception to this is in Microsoft Project version 3.0 and 3.0a when you choose the Open or Save As command from the File menu (these commands use the Windows Common dialogs).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post more information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Install the Microsoft Mouse software version 9.0 or later.
  2. In Windows Control Panel, choose the Mouse icon.
  3. Select the Snap-To check box and choose OK.
  4. Start Microsoft Project.
  5. From the Options menu, choose Project Info.

At this point, the mouse pointer should be positioned on top of the OK button, but it is not.
