All Microsoft customers have access to Microsoft’s wide range of no-cost and low-cost Electronic Information Services options 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These options are:

  • Microsoft FastTips. FastTips services provide automated information about key Microsoft products and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. At the following toll-free numbers, you can access common question and answers and technical articles by listening to recorded answers, by fax, and by U.S. Mail.

  • Microsoft Knowledge Base. This is the primary source of product information for Microsoft Product Support Services. The Knowledge Base is a database of more than 25,000 detailed articles with technical information on Microsoft products, bug lists, fix lists, and other information. The Knowledge Base is accessible through electronic services such as CompuServe, Internet, and Microsoft OnLine.

  • Microsoft Forums on CompuServe. A variety of forums are facilitated by Microsoft and provide interactive dialog with a worldwide community of Microsoft customers. You can exchange information with peer users and Microsoft support engineers. There is no support charge, but CompuServe connect charges do apply.   • Internet. The Microsoft Software Library and the Microsoft Knowledge Base are available on Internet. The Microsoft Internet FTP archive host supports anonymous login.

  • The Microsoft Download Service (MSDL). The MSDL contains sample programs, device drivers, patches, software updates and programming aids. To use the MSDL with your modem, call (206) 936-6735.

  • Information Subscription Services. For technical support professionals, Microsoft offers the TechNet compact disc (CD). For developers, Microsoft offers the Microsoft Developers’ Network (MSDN) CD. Comprehensive technical and strategic information, including Knowledge Base articles, online forums, and newsletters are available.
