PowerPoint: Graph Labels Don’t Print PSS ID Number: Q103638 Article last modified on 09-02-1993 PSS database name: M_PowerPt

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint for the Macintosh, version 3.0

When a bar graph created with Graph in Microsoft PowerPoint is printed, one of the labels on the graph will not print. All the other labels will print properly. This error will occur using Apple LaserWriter driver 8.0.

The following are three alternative solutions to the problem:

  1. Use Apple LaserWriter driver 7.x.

  2. Cut the graph and paste it as a picture. Then, double-click it to turn it into a PowerPoint object.

  3. Place a text object on top of the graph with the appropriate label so it covers up the label that does not appear on the printout.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in PowerPoint version 3.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

The Apple LaserWriter is manufactured by a vendor independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product’s performance or reliability.
