Excel: Must Have File Functions Add-in to Use CREATE.DIRECTORY

Last reviewed: September 12, 1996
Article ID: Q103566

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 4.0, 4.0a
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, version 4.0

SUMMARY

Page xv of the "Microsoft Excel Function Reference" states that the CREATE.DIRECTORY() function was formerly included as an add-in in the Microsoft Excel Library and is now part of Microsoft Excel.

This statement is incorrect. In order to use the CREATE.DIRECTORY() function, you must load the FILEFNS.XLA (Microsoft Excel for Windows) or File Functions (Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh) add-in macro.
