Creating Single Object from BorderArt in Publisher

Q102350

-------------------------------------------------------------------
The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft Publisher for Windows, versions 1.0, 1.0a, 2.0, 2.0a
 - Microsoft Publisher for Windows 95, version 3.0
-------------------------------------------------------------------

It is possible in Publisher 1.0 and 2.0 to create a single object from
a BorderArt pattern (for example, hearts or cabins).

1. Using the Box drawing tool, draw a very small square in either
   Publisher 1.0 or 2.0.

2. Select the square.

3. In Publisher 2.0, choose BorderArt from the Format menu. In
Publisher 1.0, choose BorderArt from the Layout menu.

4. Choose a border that has components to it (for example, hearts,
balloons, cabins, and so on). Do not choose a solid line border
   (this will produce a square).

5. Apply the BorderArt pattern. It should be a single object. If not:

   a. Resize the object horizontally, so that the BorderArt pattern
appears as a single vertical line of objects.

   b. Resize the line of objects vertically down to a single object.

6. If a different size object is desirable, select the BorderArt
pattern, choose BorderArt from the Format menu, and change the point
size in the Border Size box in the BorderArt dialog box.
