------------------------------------------------------------------- The information in this article applies to: - Microsoft Publisher for Windows, versions 2.0, 2.0a ------------------------------------------------------------------- SYMPTOMS ======== Every time you save a file with a preview image after having saved the file without a preview image, a new preview image is created. However, the pre- existing preview image is not overwritten. This causes the file to grow anywhere from 3 to 5 kilobytes (K) for a normal page to approximately 100 kilobytes (K) for a 20-foot banner. NOTE: If you save a file multiple times without turning off the Save Preview option in between saves, the file will not grow. MORE INFORMATION ================ Steps to Reproduce Problem -------------------------- Your file grows by 3 to 5K when you do the following: 1. Create a new presentation. Draw a line on the page. 2. From the File menu, choose Save. Make sure Save Preview is selected, and choose OK. Check the size of the file. 3. From the File menu, choose Save As. Clear the Save Preview check box, and choose OK. 4. From the File menu, choose Save As. Select Save Preview, and choose OK. Check the size of the file.
