WINDOWS

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows Printing System version 1.0

SYMPTOMS

When you use a printer driver other than a standard Hewlett-Packard (HP) series driver with the Windows Printing System (WPS) version 1.0, only portions of a page print or if dots appear on your printouts.

CAUSE

You may have a bad printer memory card or an incorrectly configured memory card.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, either remove the memory card from the printer and reinstall the Windows Printing System software with the driver through custom installation, or replace the printer memory card.

MORE INFORMATION

The Windows Printing System prints all text as graphics. WPS takes advantage of memory on the printer memory card, whereas the standard Hewlett-Packard series printer driver uses up to 1 megabyte of RAM on the printer.
