If you play a MIDI file while you scan for viruses with Microsoft Anti-Virus for Windows, your system may stop responding (hang) or you may receive a general protection (GP) fault in KRNL386.EXE or your sound driver.
To avoid this problem, do not play MIDI files when you scan for viruses with Microsoft Anti-Virus for Windows.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in MS-DOS 6.0, 6.2, 6.21, and 6.22 Anti-Virus for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here as it becomes available.
