(REQ) Office 97 and/or 2000 Developer/(OFFER) Old MS Games

Post by MacLover »

I've been looking for these two versions of Office for ages but I can't find them. If Office 2000 is too new, then ignore that request (I'm unsure because Office2K was released in 1999 and 2009 just started)

A little info:The Developer editions of Office are either Office 97 Pro or 2000 Premium plus some developer tools

By the way, I need the full ISOs of all the CDs (I don't want to sound nitpicky, but I'm sort of a purist)

In return, I offer the following games from Microsoft:
Microsoft Arcade (1993)
Microsoft Return of Arcade (1996)
Microsoft Space Simulator (1994)
Microsoft Flight Simulator 1.0-4.0 (1980's)
Microsoft Flight Simulator 5.0 (1991?)
Microsoft Flight Simulator 5.1 (1993)
Microsoft Windows Entertainment Pack - The Puzzle Collection (1997)

I have Office 97 somewhere, but haven't seen the disk in ages. It _might_ be on the BA server, I don't know.

If it isn't, I'll find and ISO it as soon as I can.

I uploaded everything except for The Puzzle collection because I can't find the disc

Distractor: I wanted the Developer edition, but Pro will do for now. Thanks

Edit: I had the wrong FTP settings

Edit: I uploaded most of my offerings

True but you can't just open them in DOS. You'll need to emulate a IBM PC if you to play MS Flight Simulator 1.05.

That's alright, it's uploaded already

that's true, but I captured the floppy image of FS 1.05 and MS-DOS 2.11 could not read it Doesn't mean you can't play it though.

I found this special DOSbox configuration

Could you explain, please, is there any difference between Office 97 Developer Edition and Office 97 Developer Edition Tools?

The Tools are part of the developer edition:

Office 97 Professional Edition + Office 97 Developer Tools = Office 97 Developer Edition
Office 2000 Premium Edition + Office 2000 Developer Tools = Office 2000 Developer Edition

I see, thanks.

I've found the following files in ed2k:
Microsoft Office 2000 Premium Developer Edition.iso
Office 97 Developer Edition Tools.iso
I'm not sure if it's available anywhere else or the author needs it (not Office 97 Developer Edition but Tools, not Office 2000 Developer Edition but Premiuj Developer Edition)? I could try to download it.

I found a copy of Office 97 Pro sitting around, so if you want to (and can: I never had luck with ed2k), send me the Developer Tools. Thanks in advance.

I believe that Office 2000 Premium Developer Edition is just an incorrectly named Office 2000 Developer Edition. That would be nice to have too.

The filename indicates that it is only one ISO, so it is most likely the Premium Edition...

Ok, it will take some days to download it since there are only several full sources available. Then I'll check if the files are not fakes and, if it's ok, I'll share it.

Microsoft Office 2000 Premium Developer Edition.iso seems to be fake. I downloaded 99,3%, previewed it in WinRAR, but couldn't see any difference in structure in comparison with simple Office 2000 Premium.

The Office 2000 Developer Edition that you've found is most likely this:

Image

if it's a 4 CD set? Looking at the labels it is just standard Office 2000 Premium as there's no mention of any extra developer tools being included, although it was from MSDN which may be why someone has labelled it as the Developer edition - one difference I think though is that there is a product key built into it, you don't have to enter one like with the retail editions. It is probably that there was an extra disc included with the MSDN subscription that I don't have that had the Developer Tools though, as I only have an incomplete set - there is one for Office 97 so you'd think there would be one for 2000 somewhere too:

Image

(for 97 there are separate discs with the actual Office 97 Pro suite, plus one for FrontPage 98 (multilingual) and one with Project 98/MS Visual Modeller/MS Macro Assembler).

The 4 Premium discs plus the Tools discs would then make up the Developer Edition (which I think was available as a boxed product as well as from MSDN), as was said above.

Its not fake then, It is mislabeled (as I wrote above).

Office 2000 Developer Edition consists of one disc containing Office 2000 Premium (the disc you have downloaded)
and another disc, the disc with the Office Developer Tools.

Ah, I think I simply misunderstood you.

But we still have another ISO downloading (Office 97 Developer Edition Tools.iso), 56,3% ready, but I still can't preview it. Let's wait.

Then, I found there something called Microsoft Office 2000 Developer Tools.zip, gonna check it as well.

Question to moderators, is this stuff is allowed to be shared at BA? Or is it too new?

Anyway, MacLover, please, contact me to discuss how to transfer it to you.

P.S. Office 97 Developer Tools are at 92,5%, I hope I will finish downloading it in a day or two.

It's too new since it's from 1999, you'll have to wait until next year to upload it to BA.

Raiker: If you want you can send it up and we'll archive it until it's ready to release. That way it won't be lost if something happens....

FarCry3r: That's right, Office 97 is all OK and I can add it as soon as it arrives.

Thanks for the nice stuff
