* I use the term geeks playfully.
Re: Windows 7 Official Public Beta Might Start Friday 9!

Re: Windows 7 Official Public Beta Might Start Friday 9!

Edit:
Will the Dll be the current B1 we have? The torrented one?
Because that way I'd only get a serial no, and done!

Re: Windows 7 Official Public Beta Might Start Friday 9!
So how do you get a serial, seeing as I'm in no position to download the beta again, thanks to my fantastic ISP
Re: Windows 7 Official Public Beta Might Start Friday 9!
Er... lol, I always thought MS servers had some backup bandwidth

That's also the same and only reason that I'm waiting for the beta program to start, which won't be open till another 2 hours more.happy dude wrote:So how do you get a serial, seeing as I'm in no position to download the beta again, thanks to my fantastic ISP
Re: Windows 7 Official Public Beta Might Start Friday 9!
I suppose you'll have to enter some data, and when you finish you'll get a "here's your download, the serial is xxx-xxx-xx..." blah blah blah.happy dude wrote:So how do you get a serial, seeing as I'm in no position to download the beta again, thanks to my fantastic ISP
so I'll just write it down and there we go!
Re: Windows 7 Official Public Beta Might Start Friday 9!
You need to enter your email addy & they will email you the seriel # & (maybe) a Dl link or you get the Dl link after you register w/ your email addy.

I hope they offer DVDs like they did with the public Vistas.

I can't access it now, but it specified clearly ("no dvds will be sent").
edit: finally appeared:
The Windows 7 Beta is going to be available download-only (we’re not sending out physical media) and available for a limited time to the first 2.5 million people who download the beta.
So...Because the Windows 7 Beta will be offered download-only, it will be provided to you as an ISO image (an .iso file) that you download.
Unfortunately we won't

It's soo different to have your nice sealed, etc etc Beta Disk, than having a Sony DVD you burnt yourself.
The disk is part of the magic of it, but unfortunately we won't get it.
