We copied the list to a Word file and start adding newly founded builds onto the list months ago, just about the time I joined OSBA and met OBrasilo.
We did do quite a lot modifications to Win3.x, Chicago, NT5, Whistler and Vista parts. Just compare with the list that swellhead earlier posted and they're obviously different.
I was unsure about build 708. For real, I don't even know what "UN-Version" in that list means. I didn't delete any unconfirmed info/comments in the list.
We add builds that were confirmed or been mentioned in discussions, and that's all. We wish to make the list richer so people could know the newest founded builds.

This OS checklist started as the Gunsamaster OS checklist, then I copied that one to a Word Document, added a whole stack of missing builds (especially the Windows 3.x ones), and corrected some information.
Then I sent the list to tpemail, she modified it as well, sent it back to me, I modified it again, sent it back to her, and so on.

So yes, it was derivd from the Gunsamaster OS checklist, but it was subsequently heavily modified.

BTW - Here's Gunsamasters List that yours wasn't copied from.
Saved as an MHT file..

& i'm not saying you haven't since added or modified info since this list,
nor was I having a go at you in any way, just pointing out the obvious..

you've forgotten 2 Longhorn Betas:

5342 and 5365.

Added. Newer list will be out some days after.
Thanks for reminding.

P.S1: Just found a strange description...
According to my list, WinXP Build 2465 was released on 2001/04/26, but 2467 was on 2001/04/18
Also, build 2469 on 2001/5/12, while build 2474 on 2001/5/8
Does anyone know what the problem is? (Perhaps my typo?)

P.S2: Do I need to put language tag on it?

Thanks empireum for the list. But found something strange too

5086 2005/06/21
5087 2005/06/16

Why is 5087 earlier than 5086?

Also

5754 2006/10/06
5757 2006/10/10

But 5744 on my list is 2006/10/06 too

In the part of "Fakes and Hacks," this version as well as screenshot was claimed to be fake.
But if any other fact is shown, I'll add this build.

Anyway, does anyone have information on codename Sparta/Kato (Windows for Workgroups 3.1), and codename Snowball (Windows for Workgroups 3.11) builds, and on Windows for Workgroups 3.2?
Though apparently, Windows for Workgroups 3.2 is a Simplified Chinese version of Windows for Workgroups 3.1, and even has some parts not localized (or so I read in the Wikipedia Windows 3.1x Talk).

I only know Windows 3.2, have never known that there was also a WfW 3.2 (Chinese as well).

Well... what's interesting, is that there are at least three Microsoft Knowledge Base articles, which mention Windows for Workgroups 3.2 under "Applies to:".

.
I hapened to have come accross a
reference to one myself recently...
Image

Also, I have found a positive reference to a build of Chicago that would
have to be the earliest build found yet, build 34 , if anyone here has a
copy of build 58s, open a file inside the installation folder called
oldsetup.inf..
There's a reference made by microsoft of build 34 in it...
The earliest build in the OS_Checklist here is build 48...

Windows 3.2 was only released in Simplified Chinese

For the Chinese market Microsoft released a Simplified Chinese version of Windows for Workgroups; the updated system identified itself as Windows 3.2. The update was limited to this language version, as it fixed only issues related to the complex writing system of the Chinese language. [1]

Windows 3.2 was generally sold by computer manufacturers with a ten disk version of MS-DOS that also had Simplified Chinese characters in basic output and some translated utilities.

Early last year I probably spent 100 hours converting the Chinese build
to english by replacing every single file with the US versions..
I'd dug out every update & fix that MS had released & used all the
latest versions of every file available...
Then had to learn all about Runtime Length Encoded bitmaps { RLE }
compression so as to convert the chinese boot screens over to English
language.
Turned out that the real early builds of PSP allowed me to modify &
re-compress it to the format that WFW uses...
Now I look back & think, what a waste of time that was..

Image

I still have it all on my D: drive if someone wants the boot screens...
Took days to work out...
This pic above doesn't do it justice as this is just a JPEG shot of it..
The proper rle.bitmaps look a perfect replica of what an English one
would have looked like if made by MS thenselves..

I'd be very interested in them, yes. And do I get this right: You have "converted" the entire Windows 3.2 to English?

Sure did, I went & searched for US versions of each file that was in the
Chinese installation, edited the setup.inf, then converted the
boot-screens to English...

I didn't really do much with it simply because another member on
OSBA decided to hack a WFW 3.11 to look & say Win 3.13 when
installed...
I figured no-one was going to want this one & canned it...

Here's the download of the BootScreens
Place them in your Win3x Windows folder then re-boot, you'll see there
as good as the MS one's, or pass for them..
