Windows XP halts when using "MPS Multiprocessor PC"

Post by LonghornFan6565 »

When i change my "ACPI Multiprocessor PC" to "MPS Multiprocessor PC", Windows XP just wont start!
It gets randomly stuck on one random moment.
But when i change to Standart PC, everything works fine, expect for USB Mass Storage.
My processor is dual-core B960.

Probably because your PC is not a "MPS Multiprocessor PC"?
I upload stuff to archive.org from time to time. See here for everything that doesn't fit BA

I fixed the issue. It turned out than DMA controller was conflicting with my processor, And also, DMA controller was yellow in Device Manager. But it was named "486" rather than a "Direct access memory controller."
Disabled it and it stops halting on random moments.
Would try out "MPS Uniprocessor PC" now.
