Differences between full and evaluation version of Windows Embedded POSReady 2009

Post by Trustedinstaller »

All of the following text is translated from Chinese. (I'm a poor translator)

I downloaded two versions of Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 from the internet, the evaluation version (Microsoft's website) and the full version (shared by others).
When I opened the full version with UltraISO, I found an ISO image named "POSready2009_CD" .
The storage size (647 MB) and file creation time (December 3, 2008 06:56:34) are the same as the evaluation version.
I calculated both ISO images with hash 256 and got this string of hashes: 92b3096dc628e0f234b4099b5aa721c6eb20a428fdf84fe604b157f7cb4d82cd.
I'm curious as to why the full version includes the evaluation version?

The operating system is the same, the only difference is in licensing. The full version and evaluation use different keys which the Setup can tell apart.
