Increase Profile Photo Max Size

Yes I know, profile pictures don't really matter but the max photo size might not be bad with static photos (JPG, JPEG, PNG), GIF's are kind a pain to put a profile picture with. So firsty you have to compress it hard... like hard. For example, here's a Windows XP GIF that you want to be your profile picture.

But, the file size is 201 KB, and the max is 29 KB, so you gotta do a LOTTA compressing, and frame cutting.
The end result is this, 28.9 KB.

I mean, it does the job but it will be helpful if would just increase the max profile picture size just a teeny tiny bit.

Then the solution would be to ban them entirely. As it stands I find the OP's request quite reasonable.

We are not going to change the current settings at this time, and we will discourage anyone from creating distracting animations where there is no need for such.

The profile image size limit has been in effect for over 12 years. We see no reason to change it now just because one person wants an animated GIF which exceeds it. Keeping file sizes low helps to keep the site fast. You might consider removing some frames of the GIF to reduce the size enough that it fits into the allowed size.
