It appears Windows 95 was localized earlier than we thought

Post by Battler »

User Bruninho from my Discord server just found this old Brazilian article about Chicago / Windows 95: Image .

It shows two interesting things: one is a Brazilian Portuguese build of Windows 95 that looks reasonably RTM-like, but the other, at the very top of the article, is even more interesting, as it shows what looks like Chicago 122 Brazilian Portuguese! It definitely looks like they were already localizing that early.

Edit: The RTM-like build appears to be English. But here's a a high-resolution screenshot of the Brazilian Portuguese 122: Image .

This is from the digital media archive of the old Brazilian newspaper "O Globo".

Also, Overdoze says it's even more interesting - a build between betwen 122 and 180, so a build we don't have.

That's a zany-looking start menu. I've never seen a start menu like that before. Looks like something out of Windows 3.1.

Edit: Never mind, i'm a dumb dumb. That start menu actually appeared in build 180.
