Looking for: How are video drivers created overview.

Post by Shintaro1969 »

Hi,

Can someone recommend an overview / book / article or something that explains the different parts required to make a video driver?
I know some say "Read the code", but if I don't understand what it is trying to accomplish it makes it difficult, well for me anyway, to understand the code.

Regards,
Craig

Back in time, when Windows NT was da thing, the DDK documentation was quite helpful. I'd imagine that the same is true for Windows 10/11. Or are you talking about Windows 9x, Windows 3.x, OS/2, MacOS, Linux or BSD?
