Can Windows 2.03 be ran in MS-DOS 5.0

I use MS-DOS 5.00 because it is easy to install and can run Windows 1.0, 3.0 (but not the VGA mode for some reason) and 3.1.
When Windows 2.0 (in CGA, EGA or VGA modes) are loaded in VirtualBox under MS-DOS 5.00, they work perfectly!
But when I write that image to an SD card and load the same Windows installations on native hardware, the OS crashes. Ctrl+Alt+Del does work though.
Is this some flaw with VirtualBox or a weird technical quirk? I have tried SETVER and that didn't work either.

Why are you actually putting Windows 2.03 on an SD card?

I recommend DOS 3.31 for Windows 2.03.

You shouldn't expect such old OS'es to run correctly on modern hardware.

Windows 2.03 can run on MS-DOS 6.22 with SETVER, of course.

Yes, only Windows 1.0x need setver when running on MSDOS 5.0 and more
