I can successfully install Windows 95 beta 1 builds such as 99 and 122 in 86Box on a 486 machine (I am using AMI WinBIOS 486). But it does not install a CD-ROM driver by default. I tried installing the Oak CD-ROM driver (I place OAKCDROM.SYS in C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND and add the appropriate lines to AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS), but it causes the machine to hang at startup (after the boot screen, it goes to a black screen with the DOS cursor blinking in the top left). This does not happen to me in preliminary release builds such as 58s and 73g.
I've tried all the fixes from this earlier topic I made: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=40562, but nothing is working for me. The OS works totally fine before I install the CD-ROM driver.
Is there something else I am missing? Does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks.
