vista reset dates

Post by dixieLH »

i'm bit confused, from the list when they reset the development 3790.1232.winmain.040819-1629 was 1st

but according to dates, these are compiled BEFORE the 1st build -_-

5000.vbl_core.040803-2000
5000.vbl_core.040808-2000
5000.vbl_core.040809-2000
5000.vbl_core.040818-2000

any logic in this ?

That's normal : some post-reset builds were compiled before the last pre-reset build (4093), even if 3790.1232 should be the "first" build after the reset.

i am aware of pre-reset ones, but if 5000 range was based on this 3790 one
then this makes no sense

I don't see what's wrong with this, it makes sense to have a team that would explore the possibility of a development reset and prepare it, considering the state of Longhorn immediately before reset.

By "first build", it means the first post-reset build from the winmain branch (main when pre-reset). "First build" is still technically correct but the statement indeed needs to have more accuracy after those 5000 builds were leaked.
