[Request] Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 (4.70.1155) Full Install

Hello everyone

If it exist, I'm looking for a full installer of the original Internet Explorer 3.0 for Windows 95 (version 4.70.1155), which don't need to find additional files on the Microsoft server.
I wish I could view Greek characters (maybe by using Windows-1253), but, for all version I've find, the installer try to connect to Microsoft servers to find missing files...

OR

If it's possible to manually add the files, could you tell me how to do it, please ?

PS : If possible give me the French version, but otherwise, or if it doesn't exist, it does not matter

No I haven't try these two. The FTP is huge I haven't search in these folders

Remember that you can always use the database to search for a release. It has become easy to find what you want.

By the way, if you're not so specific for 3.0, there are plenty of releases of 3.01 and 3.02. IIRC NT 4.0 service pack disks contain some IE 3.0 versions as well.

Windows NT 4.0 SP6 disks contained IE 5 instead.

Finally, I've test today and : No. They don't install Greek characters encoding...

ATeamInc : Rightly, this is it. I try to limit myself to the original IE3 (for W95) because I would like to optimize my site to IE3. I can use the W3.1 version also, I haven't think that .
Anyway, I use Greek letters only for "one" word in my website

This release from WinWorld seems to be in Greek. You can try it.

This page claims you need a font to display Greek. The download does not exist anymore, but it seems to be here (alongside other fonts).

Try out both the version at WinWorld and the fonts thing and tell me if any works.

I've test but it didn't work...

Internet Explorer 3 predates HTML 4.0. Therefore, it does not recognise numeric character entities above 256. Also, it does not recognise the many extra character entity references that were introduced with HTML 4.0.

So Internet Explorer 3 can't use Latin and Greek characters at the same time...

On the other hand, Internet Explorer 4 is fully compatible with UTF-8, so it can use major of the languages characters at the same time.

And, for a single word, there is nothing serious.
