Among all the features of Windows Longhorn / Windows Vista, there is not much discussion about WinFS, Microsoft's system for object (not just file) organization that has been a Holy Grail since the early 1990s. This is my video, years in the making, about WinFS, what it aimed to achieve, why it failed, and why it's still necessary today.
