eMMC driver for Windows 7

Is it possible to backport the Windows 8 generic eMMC driver to Windows 7? I imagine something similar to what was done to backport the generic USB 3.0 drivers would have to be done to do so. Not sure why this wouldn't be possible, especially since the "locked" USB 3.0 drivers were "unlocked" and backported successfully.
