What makes you think that there would be a special 4.00 build? The fact the decimal length was increased for the minor update to 4.01?
It's 4.0 then 4.01.
It's 4.0 then 4.01.

Oh ok. I just found some Internet Explorer 4.0 in Czech language disc on the internet to buy and upload to the FTP, but I don't know if it really is 4.0, as on the BA Database I saw only Czech versions of 4.01.

Based on the 09/97 date on back, it could actually be 4.0 and not 4.01.
But who knows if they just didn't make too many sleeves and then reused them for 4.01 discs.
My Czech IE 4.01 disc has date 12/97 and sleeve is 01/98.

I test that with another forum files and it work perfectly on all of these system with my websites.
My websites projects was optimized for IE3 minimum. It render very beautiful in IE4 !

I poked around with some beta builds of 95 and some very early releases and yeah, it says IE 4.00. I'm curious though, is there a version that came with even older IE versions?

Re: Does Internet Explorer 4.00 exist?
There is some IE in Plus 95!, i think it's version 3. I have vers 2.00 and 3.00 here as separate installs.
Win95 OSR2.5 has 3.02 on it, and NT4 has 4.40 on it. 4.00 is scarse because i think it ran into font licencing problems.

The cdrom has a separate version of Explorer, at 3.02. I looked at the ISO files, not what was installed.
