ME had no service packs because it was basically a placeholder version of Windows until NT could be further developed. Hence everyone forgot about ME once Windows XP came out. Anyway, ME didn't need any service packs anyway because it was basically an updated version of Win98SE anyway.

They should have released at least 1 Service Pack to try to correct the errors that it had.

There are at least 2-3 unofficial service packs though for it. Be careful to not install MDAC 2.8 SP1 in one of the service packs or it breaks Windows Me's Help and Support Center.
