9907 Timebomb

Post by kat346 »

Out of pure curiosity, Is it possible to swap out the files from fbl_ie to fbl_awesome1501, to get rid of the timebomb completely, since the two builds are nearly identical and the only possible difference is the x64 and x86 versions, is it possible? or is the x86 a big barrier in to achieving this?

No, it's not possible to swap out files from fbl_ie to fbl_awesome1501. While you can do that, it will do absolutely nothing because 9907 fbl_awesome1501 is flight signed (meaning everything relies on signature of files, even winload.exe is signature checked). If you go past the timebomb date, the build stops booting. This doesn't happen to fbl_partner_eeap/fbl_ie/th2_sigma_grfx_dev/and other labs because they are test-signed. AFAIK flight-signing was dropped in mid-RS2 (build 14965 is the first Insider build to boot on current date). Since then every single Win10 build boots on current date.

TL;DR: No, you can't get 9907.fbl_awesome1501 or any other TH1/TH2/RS1/RS2 builds (until 14965) to run on current date. Don't bother.

Obviously impossible, and the situation may be even worse.Try to change spp from Windows 8.1 Core and activate because the build is testsigned.

To be honest Debombing a such build is not easy than what i expect. It requires some programing like Patching CI.DLL, Replacing the SPP Folders and whatsoever. But builds like 9834, 9821, 9785, 9780 are more easier to debomb. If the Build has a broken timebomb that don't mean it will be fully working, Perhaps Yes you can boot but you will have a black background.

Particularly Windows 8 builds has a weak timebomb that can be simply cracked. But the complicated thing is that. If the build your messing around is M2 and newer which is on the 6.2 kernel rather than 6.1, It's complicated but if you are on M1 builds which uses 6.1 like Windows 7's Replacing the SPP Folder from Windows 7 is going to solve it but not yet Some builds still disallow The Background getting changed.

Windows 8.1 builds doesn't seem to have a timebomb. Since i tried installing Build 9299 on a current date just the background can't be changed. Perhaps it doesn't restart every 2 hours.
