Does anyone know what the actual Windows Whistler startup sound is?

2000 or final XP one, depending on build. It's not NT 5.0 to have beta startup sounds.

Re: Windows Whistler startup sound
Builds 2202-2481 uses the 2000 sounds by default. However, 2481 also included the final XP sounds. The final XP sounds would be used by default on build 2485. The fake sounds were never included in any build.

I wish the fake ones were real! They sound really good. Especially the startup one with the reversed 2000 startup with the 98 startup (I think)

I always thought the fake sound was the real sound.
Re: Windows Whistler startup sound
Same, but like the Longhorn sounds, they're fake, it would be kool to copy the sounds onto a whistler build, I did that on my XPS 630I with Longhorn sounds and its cool

That actually sounds like a really cool experiment to do.

2000 or Final XP Version, but different by version.
