Full 32 bit color in Windows Nashville (VMware)

Post by somerandompep »

Has anyone got 32 bit color on Windows Neptune using VMware? Mine throws an error complaining that "the display adapter is not configured properly"

If you know how, can you tell me how did you achieve that?

It's not possible, because the VMware Tools can't be installed.

Use 86-Box for anything pre-98. Windows Nashville has known issues with VMware. If you want higher res or color depth in VMware you could install the VBEMP driver for 9x but it’s not guaranteed to work.

I've never had good experiences with 9x on VirtualBox... You'll have to use generic VESA drivers for 9x as there never were any video drivers for 9x on VirtualBox.

Use 86Box for such betas. It is capable of emulating the matching hardware.
