Opening stuff on the login screen (Zorin OS 15.1)
Opening stuff on the login screen (Zorin OS 15.1)
Is it possible? Similar to replacing sethc.exe with cmd and opening it on the login screen on Windows XP-Windows 10, but on Linux.

Like tricking the "Accessibility" menu to open the terminal?
I don't think it's possible.
I mean, it needs a lot of hacking to do that.
Thinking of the past...

Yes, exactly. I was wondering how the accessibility menu works and if I could make one of the options or the menu open the terminal.

I have browsed in the /usr folder and found gnome-shell’s data and extensions, but no login screen.

Changing GNOME Shell .desktop file to Nautilus works. On boot it opened nautilus.

You can go to a terminal screen just by pressing CTRL + ALT + F1-6 and to go back to the normal screen you do CTRL + ALT + F7, but that requires you to log in, and I am not sure if it works on Wayland.

But you can't open GUI apps that way. You can only run CLI stufficanttellyou wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:07 amYou can go to a terminal screen just by pressing CTRL + ALT + F1-6 and to go back to the normal screen you do CTRL + ALT + F7, but that requires you to log in, and I am not sure if it works on Wayland.
What's wanted here is running GUI apps on login screen.
