I actually created one (https://www.betaarchive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40440). I will update it, so there is probably no need of another one.
I suggest locking.

I wouldn't lock it. This would be a good place to just discuss the new Sonic 2 betas.

Looks like we finally got our hands on a "Beta 3" release though, even if its not official. The gap is finally bridged. :)

Too bad neither of them are very interesting. Would be nice if he decided to leak an extremely early build.

We already have the Nick Arcade prototype, which is quite early. Not long ago, there was a huge gap between Simon Wai and Beta 4. Now we got the prototypes that fill the gaps.

Here is how I call the releases:
Nick Arcade: Alpha 1
Simon Wai: Alpha 2
Aug 21: Alpha 3
Sep 14: Beta 2
CENSOR: Beta 3
Beta 4-Beta 8 are the same.
The only thing we miss is a Beta 1, which is probably from early to late September.

I'd imagine something to be between Nick Arcade and Simon Wai. Just because there's a significant amount of work that went in between those. The introduction of all the music, level slots, art etc I'd imagine didn't happen within even a month.

Very bizarrely, the Aug 21 build has Hidden Palace Zone present AND soundtest track 90 (Final Hidden Palace Zone theme), yet it doesn't play in the zone, instead opting for the 2-player Mystic Cave Zone theme.
EDIT: Another discovery: Super Sonic partially exists in this build. Use PAR codes FFF65F:0001, FFFE19:0001 and FFB02B:0006 to get a very early, incomplete Super Sonic in the game. The palette seems a bit bugged after about half a second, however.

You can also place a monitor in debug mode. Destroying it will make Sonic turn into Super Sonic, which pretty much just works as intended minus ring drain.
