Longhorn and ACPI SLIC activation

Post by winlego3210 »

It seems that OEM preactivation support via the BIOS SLIC in Longhorn was implemented since Beta 2 (or earlier?) I installed a crack that uses said activation method and got rid of the timebomb in 5259:

PM please. Even after tokens.dat replacement myself, I never got to successfully debomb 52xx range of builds.

Seems interesting, could you please share with us more details about this? Like what crack did you use and what did you do exactly.

Yeah, I'm interested too, never heard of a method that also removes timebomb that easily.

It's a crack that seems to be designed for RTM versions of Vista and probably a coincidence that it works on late betas. It's either:
1) official activator
2) an imitation in terms of style (more likely)

Given BA's policy on cracks, you know the deal.
