Should i install 86box?

I have never heard about 86box until last month, when i saw a post (https://www.betaarchive.com/forum/viewt ... 59&t=36849), but i'm asking if network works on it? I installed windows 3.1 in vmware and the network functionality didn't work.

Yes, network works in 86box, if you choose a card for which you have a matching driver (e.g. NE2000).

But it also works in VMware, you probably installed the wrong driver. VMware uses the AMD PCnet (aka. Lance, aka. Am7990) card.

As Darkstar said, yes. You can also get glorious 1024x768x32 with the S3 Trio64 card (install this driver which I use).

Generally, if something works on PCem, it will work on 86box, since it is a fork. However, you are limited to one of several emulated cards (the RTL80xx also work besides NE2000, though) and you need to install WinPCap support on the host.

It gave me an error even after i installed the ROMs: "The program can't start because d3dx9_43.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
