Thought I'd ditched this years ago ..but just found a CD in cardboard packaging.

Is this any use to the archive ?

on closer inspection it may not be complete.
(a sort of demo)
according to the blurb ..backup options sold seperately.

Yes it could be useful if it's a proper retail title. But I guess it's some kind of hardware bundle?

I'll scan the sleeves and upload it anyway .
It can always be dumped if not useful.
I also found a boxed copy of Norton Utilities 2000 CD with 2 floppy recovery disks still in the plasic bag
I'll image that too if useful

Not always. Many server OEMs actually bundle copies of completely working "retail" (aka. you can use these CD with other hardware as long as you have the proper activation keys, hardlocks or whatever it needs for the other unit) stuff in cardboxes to save space package. If necesary he would provide a scan of the software cardbox with the bar codes or license document/data scans (with the activation key blurred if the archive doesn't need these) to prove ownership and that the CDs/DVDs aren't a sort of preactivated locked-to-hardware bundle.

As I suspected the Veritas CD looks like a promo ..
It is genuine but just an information kit announcing the product
