Blinking cursor in Windows 3.1

I get a blinking cursor in Windows 3.1 when I try to start it up. I have used the /d switch but to no avail.

VM specs wrote:Microsoft Virtual PC 2004
RAM: 32MB
HDD: 2048MB
Guest Additions Installed

Host specs wrote:OS: Windows 2000 USP 5.1.2195.24
Processor: Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5300 2593MHz @ 2.60GHz
RAM: 2GB

Which mode, standard or enhanced?

I'm aware that the VPC Guest Additions might conflict with Windows 3.1, specifically the Folder Sharing driver. Maybe you should try to comment it out and see what happens.

This usually means something has failed to load, usually a driver. Do a WIN /B, and then look at BOOTLOG.TXT to see what failed to load.

Looks like it had something to do with it. Removed it from my autoexec.bat and it booted perfectly fine.
However, trying to run it from within Windows, it gives an illegal operating error.
