Problem installing Corel Linux 1.2

Post by assenort »

Hi guys,

I am trying to install this ancient distro - Corel Linux 1.2 Deluxe - off a bootable CD. The setup initializes OK, but then I got into a problem. Namely, the dialog screens are too big (do not fit on the screen), so I cannot follow through. For example, the License Agreement is not scroll-able, and I cannot see at all the buttons at the bottom that supposedly say "Agree" or "Cancel". Obviously, the default is Agree, because when I press Enter it goes to the next screen, where again the same problem persists and I get stuck.

Corel Linux 1.2 Deluxe is from mid-2000, the machine I try to install it on is newer (like it has nVidia GeForce Ti42000, which came out in 2003). The monitor native resolution is 1280x1024, it cannot be changed unless someone has access to the driver settings (which cannot happen during the setup).

I have tried pressing Alt and dragging the screens with the mouse in order to resize them - it did not work.

Help please? Any suggestions I can adjust/fix the dialog screens' size so I can proceed with the installation?

Thank you in advance.

Greets :-)

Corel Linux 1.2 can also easily install in VMware Workstation 15 Player, using version "Other Linux 2.4.x kernel".
