Anyone who using Windows 8/8.1 with a Start menu program?
Anyone who using Windows 8/8.1 with a Start menu program?
Windows 8 removed the familiar Start menu, who using Windows 8/8.1 with a 3rd party Start menu program such as Classic Shell or StartIsBack? In Windows 8.0, basic functions like shutdown is hidden under the Settings charm which forces use of corners and only usable with a Start menu program.

I have a feeling the majority of people using 8.x use a start menu program. I personally like the start screen, though the free trial of DisplayFusion lets you resize it, which I very much like.

I have 8.1 with ClassicShell, and i installed classicshell on some of the visiting family. More, they said, more.
Other essentials are things like voidtools' everything, and irfanview. Open office if you can sneak it in.

Re: Anyone who using Windows 8/8.1 with a Start menu program
I've never used ClassicShell to get the regular start menu back in Windows 8/8.1, but I would use that shell to make Windows 10 look like Windows 7, adding the Aero Glass and 7-like start menu, as well as setting the wallpaper as the default Windows 7 wallpaper. Nothing much about Windows 8.x, but rather something about ClassicShell

Server 2012R2 Standard wif update 1 here.
I just use classic shell to change the button to something more palatable to me. That's about it.
I use the start screen because it's easier on my eyes.
