I just want to know where Windows 7 is still being used, because the EOL is close.
I'm dual-booting Windows 7 and XP x64 on my vaio netbook.

My school still use Windows 7, though I assume they’ll switch to 10 next year, after I’ve left it anyways for college. I also see self checkouts in Tesco running Embedded POSReady 7, which is still supported until October 2021 anyways. My desktop also runs 7 Ultimate and my laptop that I use for studying runs 7 Professional (both previously had Home Premium).

More than 60% of people use Windows 7 on their desktops although I don't. All my friends still have a copy of Windows 7 installed.

Windows 7 is now mainly used personally and not many (big) companies use Windows 7. They normally use Server 20012 R2 or 2016 or Windows 10.

The Windows 7 EOL will be just like XP's EOL but Windows 7 is far worse than XP.

In a market near my house, they use either Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2 with the classic theme, on a Xeon workstation. ;)

Windows 7 didn't fall into obsolescence yet, so it can be seen in many places. A few examples I've seen recently (read: this/last week):
- a few PCs at our school
- our local electronics store
- the advertising boards at our local mall
- a different electronics store
there's definitely more, these are just examples I've specifically noticed

They use Windows POSready 2009 at a mall near me.
Also at my school, many PCs use Windows 7, however few use 8.1 or 10.

POSready 2009 is based on NT 5.1 (XP), not 7. POSready 7 is the one based on NT 6.1 (7).

I recently went to an optician's office to check my vision and I saw their PC still running Windows 7. My desktop, which came with Windows 8.0, also has Windows 7 (Ultimate) in a multi-boot configuration. My college, which where I'm at currently, also have PCs in Windows 7 (I believe Enterprise).

In a lot of places, probably. My high school still used XP on some computers a year or two after EOL, before everything was upgraded to 7.

My school still use Windows 7 on almost all of the desktop computers. However, most of the teachers at my school have already had their desktops upgraded to Windows 10, so they're lucky :x *hehe* But it's not anything to really be jealous about because all of the students, including me, now use Chromebooks provided by the school for doing school work.

I really didn't like those Chromebooks at all. It was like hell for me. After I graduated, I said to myself that I will never touch another one. The school that I went locked down a ton of features and the Internet there was horrendous as it was slow and unstable. I rather use a PC that has offline functionality.

It's being used by 30% of all the computers running any Windows version. You can check http://gs.statcounter.com/windows-versi ... worldwide/

Microsoft is doing all it can to stop people from using it, just like it has happened with every Windows version when it gets near EOL. For example this

I've seen computers using Win7 and 10 in the same amounts, they are coexisting pretty well by now.

Please, no more posts of "Where is x being used?", you can ask this on Discord, where you'll get more response

I'm sure it's fine to have these "where is Windows being used" threads here on the forum. I guess it's just a way to let people tell what they do with their operating systems. They get quite good responses.

I thought it was 60 when Windows 10 came out. Windows 10 is finally beating Windows 7!

Topic cleaned.

Stay on topic, if Office runs or not on Windows 7 is irrelevant.

That was probably the best thing to do. We don't want things to get out of hand, like what happened in some other times :) Yes, we really should stay on topic!

So, generally, a number of small businesses, schools/ colleges, and even in larger corporations still uses Windows 7. I remember reading a comment once in a YouTube video about an IT Manager who originally ran Windows 7 in his network of computers, upgraded to Windows 10 and downgraded back to Windows 7 and gave various reasons.
