Hello everyone,
I prefer Windows NT 3.51 instead NT 4 to run on my 486 DX-4, however appears to be pretty hard to find any recommendations of alternatives to Program Manager. When using Windows 3.1x, I had a lot of options, like Wayfarer (freeware), a version of IBM's Workplace Shell (I guess it was freeware), Calmira (also freeware), HP Dashboard (commercial) and many others.
The best I could find for Windows NT 3.51 was Norton NT Tools. NT Tools has a nice 32 bit file manager with builtin file compression functionality, but unfortunately NT Tools does not include something like Norton Desktop.
Does anyone here managed to find good alternatives? I mean, particularly 32 bit alternatives, without fiddling with 16 bit utilities.

Have you tried Newshell? It's basically the Windows 95 shell compiled for NT 3.51.

Er… I don't exactly like the Windows 9x shell paradigm.

There was a project called NTShell. It's Calmira port for NT 3.51.
