Hi guys! I was wondering if it's possible to put Windows ME's DVD Player to Windows 2000?

Considering the different codebase and API, i think that it isn't. However, i don't know much about that, so maybe i'm wrong.

Like he said, since ME is 9x based, probably wouldn't work with NT based. You could use an old VLC as an alternative

May I ask what is the difference between Win32 and Win32?

With all dependencies sorted out I don't see why it wouldn't work. I seriously doubt the architectural differences would affect something like a DVD player...

I think it depends on what exactly those dependencies are and how they interface with the OS core. As a first party system app it might have some weird requirements.

ive seen alot of things ported from 2000 to ME
so why wouldn't things go other way around ...

It could work for a few programs, like the DVD Player and maybe the Internet Games? However, don't bother trying to port a few like the System Restore onto Windows 2000.

It may not work since Win9x has different IOCTL APIs than NT/2000's.
